Another strategy that I'm working on is creating a separate section on my blog for just product sales, which I then refer to in various places inside blog posts.
For example, check out
dad-eblog.com | Musings from a few dedicated dads where I just posted an article on leveraging house projects as a way to get "wife approval" for new power tools. I refer to my "
Deals for Dads - Tools" page for deals on nail guns, which I discussed in my blog along with a picture of my current house project (window seats for the kid's rooms).
I'm hoping that readers who were interested in the blog post, will also be interested in checking out the "Deals" section... and perhaps will be one step closer to the "Buy" mode.
This will also let me continue to blog on whatever I'm passionate about, without having to weed in a clever sales pitch in every post.
