Re: Tony Bibbs' Blog: Fed Up of Framework Hype - 10-04-2007

Most of the elitist programmers that I know have recently switched to Rails. Instead of just jumping into the framework, the programmers were asked to learn the language during any free time (at work).

They're all assigned certain tasks at work and are on a salary, so it made a lot of sense for them to use their free work time to broaden their knowledge. Their new site is in Rails and is freaking fantastic. An incredible piece of programming.

I fully advocate Ruby on Rails, though hate it when people use the scaffolding in their real applications.

I still use PHP for most of my projects with ADOdb (freaking great! Shortcut to active records and simplistic programming)... PHP is still more familiar to me.
