Hello, as you all may know, I am a newbie to this field, in some ways. Ive been looking into this area for only 2 years now. I was 22 when I first found out what the heck an affiliate program is. Wow was I amazed when I found out that all those little links I've been clicking all these years are putting money into someones pocket. Being the business minded person I am, I definitely saw the benefit in this (Anyone with an IQ of 1 can though). I started looking at programs, etc. The day came when I decided I was going to build a website. Well, I dont even know HTML well at all, but that is besides the point, if the time ever comes where I need PHP and HTML programmers working projects for me great, but not at this stage. I have come to realize that building a successful affiliate marketing program is like building a small country. First you gather an idea of what it is you want base it on. Second (not necessarily in any order here) you begin to look at other models. Third, you optimize your strengths and strengthen your weaknesses. Somewhere along this building of a small country, security becomes a reality. Without security, you lose, you get invaded, and get cut out, and die away. Would you invest in a million dollar home and leave your doors unlocked for all to enter? Wouldnt you want to secure your property? My question is this for all you gurus and experienced alike- How do I secure my small empire? Where do I begin? Can I do anything with the FTP access to secure my site? If you took a look at my site, there isnt much of anything yet, just a few links to test and thats it. The reason is security. I have an army of programs waiting for me to copy and paste ;) But I do not dare put all of them out there in the dark world I am not all too educated on (yet). Thanks, I am a bit philosophical. |
