Hi Ana,
Affiliate marketing can be rough at first unless you know what you are doing. Make sure you do lots of research first. I know it's a pain to do but it will save you lots of headaches. Here is an important suggestion for research "affiliate link cloaking." Make sure you know how to do this to prevent affiliate ID theft. Just type in (affiliate link cloaker) in major search engines and you will find some free tools and info on how to do this. If you have a program that can create php files like Dreamweaver, you can cloak you link that way too...just let me know if you want to learn how to do this.

Building "niche blogs" is probably the best way to sell affiliate products, plus it's cheap and search engines love blogs. You can check my "free Wordpress video tutorials" on how to build blogs if interested. Good Luck !

I say find a niche your interested in, that you know something about. Find products you can promote that are related to your specific area of knowledge, and set up a website with imformative articles and info on the subject, articles that people would genuinly want to read. And then promote the product of your choice. You can also put up some adsense for extra money. This is just a basic first step, but a good one to take for beginners!!!

Wink Re: Newbie - Looking for some advice - 09-18-2007

I have promoted a few affiliate programs but have not become rich from doing so.

The problem is that to succeed in any affiliate program you have to have a large opt-in and targeted e-mail list, from 5000-100,000 or some other way to generate 500-1000 traffics daily.

So, the problem is not affiliate programs. there are millions of them. The problem is getting traffics.

Most marketers are forced to do Pay per click (PPC) advertising.

But success in Pay per click advertising depends on what affiliate program you are promoting.

If you are promoting an affiliate program that thousands of marketers are already promoting using Pay per click ads, then it will not work.

The one that works is the one that very few people are promoting.

You will have to do some research to figure that out.

Hello all you jumpers out there...

When you talk of Affiliate marketing...you got to know PPC, CPC, and all kinds of SEO rules that take you to the talk of SE rankings.
Eventually greater traffic thus raising your ROIs, but there are risks especially from Search engines...like Google and all.
So keep out of it. Forex has its own risks but at least confided.

Everyone has to use Clickbank. It is easy to use. The products become popular reletivley fast and there is lots of money to be made. I say start off with a very strong blog and article campaign to get some recognition.

Anyone got any tips of the best vertical to go for just now?

Which networks are the best to work with?

Thanks
Hello ana,

I will suggest that you do some research before you jump into any affiliate program. Although there are ton of them out there. But a reliable and established one could be only a handful of them.

Choose one that is of your interest so that you will have better knowledge when you promote them. As a beginner I would suggest that you concentrate on one affiliate program until you see result before jumping into another one.
