Thumbs up Mambo: The easiest way to operate a website without knowing how to code! - 03-18-2005

I found this great free script a month or so ago called Mambo and is in my opinion, the best script I have ever found. Mambo is a CMS/portal system that can really be used to manage any type of site.

The real strenght of Mambo is how easy is to use. There are components, modules and mambots that can be easily added to the basic package. Templates are also free and easy to implement. Implementation on a Mambo is so easy- you upload the compressed file and Mambo installs it for you and publishes it on your site for you.

Among my favorite components are: SEO friendly URLs (you have the option to even make the urls based on navigation of site or yourself based on whatever you want), static content, newsletter management, friendly SEO site map, banner management, and related items.

I can go on and on about Mambo but you have to see it to believe it. You can see MY shopping website with Mambo at HerShoppingDeals.com or go to Mambo's official site Mamboserver.com

If anybody wants a drive-thru of Mambo, please contact me. Mambo is a free script and most of the modules, templates, etc are free too. I am migrating all of my sites to Mambo and if you have a linux/php/mysql server, you should definetly give it a try.

This looks great! I sure could use something to help with organizing my site.

I will have to take a look at Mambo. I will let you know what I think.

Thanks for the info!

I started using Mambo on a couple of sites, starting about 2 months ago. I really like it. One of the things you need to be aware of is what they term their "Search Friendly URL's". Make sure you're on an Apache server so that you can rename your htaccess.txt to .htaccess.

Other than that, it has great add-in modules and components that the Mambo community provide. Since it's free, it is worth your time to dink around with it and see if it will work for you.

My mambo site - 05-16-2005

I agree. I love Mambo and my favorite add ons are the Google adsense, Aliases (since the SEF extensions is not stable), and Awesom! which very easily creates a shopping department using Amazon's xml feed.

Check out my experiment site http://www.hershoppingdeals.com I built the whole thing with Mambo and no programming.... and FREE!
