SERPs is a term that I've seen creeping up more and more, especially in discussions about SEO.

SERPs is an acronym for "Search Engine Results Page." If someone says they want to rank well in Google SERPs, it means they want to come up in the result pages for the terms relevant to their site.

Related discussions will sometimes mention how a new indexing method or a change in algorithm affects search engine results (SERPs).

True and then there are other acronyms like

SEs - Search Engines
PR - PageRank
Supped - Supplemental (usually used when 99% of a site is supped)

Black Hat SEO

White Hat SEO

There are more, but these are the only ones that come to my mind right now.

Black hat SEO would be when you're doing something shady, like cloaking pages, creating hidden DHTML elements, etc.

White hat SEO is when you are playing by the search engine rules, creating quality pages and getting them ranked based on their true content alone.

Of course, there is always those that like to be somewhere in the "gray" area.

nice to have the terms listed..there have been times when I have seen a new term and have to spend ages on google trying to find what it means
