I’ve been keeping all my webmaster notes in a WordPress blog for a while, and it’s getting to be a pain to find things.* And, being database driven, it’s not the fastest-running thing on earth.* None of the database-free Wikis I’ve found quite do what I want.* TiddlyWiki rocks, but it’s for your PC, not a server, and I want my stuff on a server so I can access it from any computer.
This weekend, I found
CMSimple. * Install is just uploading the files (and maybe setting some permissions if you can “cannot read” errors).* Creating new pages just means using an H1 header in whatever document you’re in (or H2 for a subpage, or H3 and so on). And the interface is WYSIWYG, which means if I copy a page full of links from my old WP blog, those links are intact as soon as I paste them into CMSimple.* I just hit “save” and boom.
I’m thinking not only is this awesome for personal notes, but it could be unbelievable for small sites.* Small content sites, small affiliate sites, small stores.
