I’ve had a $20 credit sitting in my
Bidvertiser account for a while now, to be used to purchase ads. When I got an offer to write this (paid)* review of
Bidvertiser as an advertising solution, I decided it was time to make use of that credit and try them out.
You do have to submit credit card information to activate the credit, FYI. But as long as you pause the ads before the $20 runs out, you shouldn’t have any charges.
When you go in to set up an ad, the first thing you do is choose which sites you want it appearing on. You can choose all the sites in a particular category or subcategory, or you can choose each site individually, so you have a lot of control. Next you geo-target, selecting which countries you want your ad appearing to, so you’re not wasting clicks on visitors who might be unable or unlikely to participate in your site’s offers. And while this is certainly no guarantee of click fraud prevention (there is no such thing), you have the option of eliminating the countries that most frequently produce them.
Once you’ve made your basic choices, their interface suggests bid amounts in the various categories you’ve chosen and even estimates what your monthly spending might come to. This is a neat feature for me, since I never have any idea what to expect from CPC or whether I’m doing it right. After that, you create your ad - that part of the interface works more or less like AdWords.
You can cap your daily spending so there’s no worry of your budget spiraling out of control.
Even though this is a paid review, I did take out a real ad and I’ll let you know how it goes. Just remember, I never did well with AdWords, so if the ad doesn’t perform that may be a shortcoming on my end rather than
Bidvertiser’s.

What I can tell you now is that this is a nice interface that gives you a lot of choices without overwhelming you with options you don’t need.
