This December was a bit disappointing with $348 in earnings.
For January, I gained some cheap text links on one of my
PR Zero blogs but lost some expensive ones on this one. I’m still not sure this is related to the zeroing out - I’d have thought so, except for the new text links I’m selling, and how long the ones I’m losing have been there. But as far as I’m concerned, it’s all good:
- I think I’m finally starting to get a handle on affiliate marketing. I’ve been trying some new methods recently and am seeing a good CTR… I think with more traffic I should start seeing steady conversions. *crosses fingers*
- I cannot freaking wait for Mark to get ShowYourAdHere on the road - what used to be No Follow Ads. (BTW, good call on the name change.) I fully believe you can sell no follow links to people who don’t want to make graphic ads or don’t think they work as well as text - it’s just like selling ads before Google invented PageRank, and it worked then, so I’m looking forward to using this on my sites. You just need a marketplace.
I’ve set up a goal spreadsheet for 2008. It shows what I’m currently earning on each site per month, and what I believe each site should be bringing in. Instead of obsessing on traffic and building new sites, I’m starting to focus more on how much I should be bringing in per visitor. As I’ve mentioned, I do not know how to monetize sites, so now I’m trying one method after another and taking notes, trying to figure out what works for each site in each niche.
My goal for the end of this year is to be bringing in about $2000 per month. Unlikely? Hell, yes. But I need to condition myself to believe that’s possible, so I can work my way up to believing $10,000 a month is possible - that number being my longterm goal.
