What I mean by "cool"might be different to you however!
There are many people that think that a website or blog which has lots of "cool" stuff and flash animations, videos etc makes for a good website or blog
While this may be the case in some particular occasions - this can only be determined by tracking what actually happens when people come to your website - i.e. do they buy anything?
It perfectly possible to get lots of traffic but no sales
This is one of the lessons I learned early on in the internet marketing and affiliate marketing game. I wondered why it was that a website of mine with only 50 or so visitors a day was actually selling more products than other websites with thousands. It turns out that highly targeted visitors - who in the main make for high quality traffic - are far more likely to buy your products or click through to your affiliate links
So it pays - not to be cool - but instead to be effective
At the end of the day we are all looking for sales, so anything that doesn't sell it actually pointless
