Time for a general update/assessment.
Project Mai Tai is still out with Google, in with Yahoo and MSN LiveSearch.* Not that it’s actually had any search traffic.* But the bookmark rate is up, and Alexa puts it in the 300,000’s.* Which, considering I have older and better sites doing worse is… um, whatever.*

* The point is, it still has only two organic links from other sites, which I guess isn’t enough to impress the engines.* I’m sure I could use a better link baiting strategy… if I can think of one.
Project B-2 Bomber has finally made it above 200,000 in Alexa.* I want that site in the top 100,000 very soon, because as inaccurate as I find Alexa to be, I think it somehow can boost traffic.* I’m also adding some enhancements to that site, so we’ll see what that brings in.
My affiliate sites are at a standstill, and earning very little.* I still think the trick is going to be to integrate my affiliate links with my content sites, rather than have free-standing thin affiliate sites.* But that’s slow progress right now.* Still, it just gave me an idea of something to do.
Today’s project is going to be getting one of my other blogs ready for PayPerPost approval.* It’s going to be one of the ones where I integrate affiliate links into my articles and hope for sales that way, and it’s ideal for PPP - it’s not written in first person like this one.* It’s third-person articles rather than a traditional blog, many of which will contain aff links or ads, so being paid for posts won’t harm the credibility there.* I’ll call it Project Taffy from now on.
If Taffy works out, I have another couple of blogs to submit to PayPerPost.* I’m finding it a fabulous way not only to pad my affiliate income, but to keep me inspired and writing on all these sites.* Ideally, I should be writing at least a dozen articles per day, and there’s no way I can approach that.* But PPP gives me some added motivation, and that’s a help.
