To Fastclick or not to Fastclick? - 12-03-2004

a fellow webmaster told me that she does well with Fastclick the ad network. I tried them up and it has been 1 week since and I have only earned $0.65 cents- - I check their stats: I am sending them clicks, I am just not earning... Is this a case of a company shaving people or just a bad program?

Anyone? feedback please!

I do not have any first-hand experience with FastClick, but I generally keep the following in mind:

Companies of all sizes need to be profitable. Larger companies and networks have a higher instance of fraud (or at least attempts thereof) and someone needs to pay the lost money. That fraud doesn't come off the company's bottom line; it comes off of yours.

You may want to send your traffic to a smaller ad network, like http://www.trafficmp.com/ I have had good success with them. Be wary of toolbar installs, etc. You can contact them and tell them which types of ads you don't want running on your campaigns.

trafficmp.com mainly (or is it exclusively, i haven't checked with them recently) deals with popunders. Ugh.

Fastclick deals with mainly cpm advertising and some cpc. So you need traffic to your site to make money . You can choose your ads and can see the clicks per campaign so you can verify pay. They pay and they are very reputable. I make mid 4 figures monthly with them.
