I agree with you to create a site with closely related topics. Since I was mainly depending (originally) or organic search traffic I thought, hey someone will search on keywords "xyz abc " and land on a page on my site that talks about "xyz abc"

but you're right, if they want to find out about more stuff they'll be lost on the site, to address that problem I created a few pages related to "xyz abc" and put them on the side navigation bar. But that is not enough, I think it's better if the whole site is dedicated to a niche topic.

Unfortunatley I can't write volumes on things I'm not very familiar with. The only things I know in depth is computer programming, I'm thinking of building a site on programming. I'll build it offline first and when it has substantial content, I will host it since right now I'm already hosting 2 websites and its costing me every month especially when I don't have a source of income.

So when I get a job, may be I'll be able to focus on this.

Today I got a cent on AdSense for just 10 page impressions and no clicks. Ofcourse it was others visiting those pages.

This means that, they do pay per impression and not just per click. That motivates me to create more content.

I also decided to add google.com itself in my competitive filter ads, because now who doesn't know about Google. Everyone knows about Google, so having them take up the Ad space is a waste in my opinion.

Ahh, yes, the 1c payment. I believe it's per 1000 impressions, and it accumulates over days or weeks, and once some specific ad has been on the page long enough to receive the 1000 imps, you get a cent. Unfortunately, there is no indication that you get it (other then the 1c referral fee), and no indication for what ad, etc. The only way to see it, is to view your report before you get any clicks, and already have that 1c. So you might have had them before, and just not noticed them 'covered over' by click revenue.

Thanks for explaining, I guess high traffic sites might be earning a good per/impression revenue.

Right now, I'm putting aside general marketing articles, and simply focusing on programming experiements. I'll experiment with stuff and write pages about the outcome, that way I'll get the satisfaction of expressing myself and also on spreading my ideas and views to the world.

But, this time I won't put any ads on the new pages until about the first 5 visitors show up via search engines. Depending on their duration of stay etc, I'll start putting relevant ads.

It's much easier to add the ads than it is to make useful content. But if there's useful content, it makes it so much easier and pain-free to sprinkle some ads.

I am a total beginner or what u will call noob in earning with adsense.

Over 1000 impressions in a day seems kind of impossible to achieve, not to mention the clicks.

I got to admit that i am somewhat selfish in giving (not investing $ to make it grow) but i am still skeptical about making money online.

Put your ads in the Upper Left Corner of the web page if you want more clicks per impressions. it like reading a book. This is where people look first and soetime the adsense ads can alomost look like apart of the website.

Oh yeah, you can change the properties of adsense to make the colors and stuff match your website. If they think it is not an ad they are more likely to click on it.

its now very hard to convince people to click on the ads...
While we adsense users know it benefits each other by clicking the ads, most of the people are just avoiding ads.
