MUST READ: Fan mail from Haiko! - 11-11-2004

As received by our ISP:

Dear Sirs,

It has come to my attention that www.revenuesource.com has copied my forum listings which is
also happens to be my proprietary client list from my site
www.abestweb.com, and in effect extorting my
clients to go to their site because of using their brand name in
association with the unauthorized forums so I can easily prove financial
harm.

I will escalate this to include he.net in an official cease and desist
order from my attorneys, if you do not remove the site.

Continued Success,

Haiko de Poel, Jr.

I would post a response on your board, Haiko, but everyone knows you are notorious for censorship. And I am sure you can't risk letting any references to RevenueSource.com creep up... we wouldn't want to "extort" any defectors.

Censor this: "We are going to put you out of business through superior quality and service."

BTW, company names are not proprietary, nor is anything that you share publicly. As far as "extorting" your clients -- wait a minute let me stop laughing --- Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.... :cwl:

Definition of extortion: obtain through intimidation.

Haiko, just because you are initimidated by us, doesn't mean we extorted you.

Thanks for emailing your lies to our ISP... you forgot to email them to us first. Are you trying to "censor" us? Any further attempts to interfere with my corporation's ability to do business will be dealt with accordingly. Keep in mind, my friend, that if you continue to libel or slander us through ludicrous and false accusations, we are going to drag you (not your company) to Florida and sue you here.

Here are some other companies "extorting:" LOL

Haiko there is nothing illegal or wrong with having a forum with merchants on a board. Think about it there are other forums with your clients, Merchants are in Public domain and can be used freely as long as they don't break there trademark and copyright policys. Sure if you say it's financial loss then you can sue every webpage (billions) that advertise that merchant. Why don't you just try to expand your forum instead of making these false accusations.

"Censor this: "Your board sucks"

In all fairness, his board is a good resource for one who can discern which folks are peddling weasel water and which ones aren't.

You can drink seawater if you have the right kind of filter to precess it.

The thing that really upsets me about Abw is that some of the members there Come to conclusions about someone and or puts them down negatively without even knowing the members experience in the field. Especially within this industry you gotta make sacrifices or make a step forward to enhance your career. I don't have any comments about that forum all I can say is that it's time to move on and never let others get in your way to what you want. Anyway Abw is good for some affiliates and not good for others. But Just remember it's your choice of where and how you build your business and who you listen too and don't let anyone mock your business and or goals.

Shocking - 11-16-2004

I read numerous boards – and more than one maintain the exact same merchant list, so how exactly is this an infringement?

There is this thing called healthy competition, I see nothing wrong going on here.

Has anyone at this board taken the time to direct the Networks to this board for some NON-trashing discussions? I am certain the Networks would love to chat us up about the up and comings without the negativity. I have not seen the Network Big Boys at ABW in over a month, any chats in the upcoming?

This is the very type of talk that upsets you at ABW, and while I can appreciate witty criticism and heated debate, name-calling and juvenile one-liners will only help you to reproduce the atmosphere you are trying to get away from.

Byte: The quote: Censor this: "Your board sucks " was posted to show what Abw is about. No matter what you say at ABW if you say anything that offends the ABW mods or the Admins they will censor you. (thats what some people think) I don't have any comment on that though. I do agree with you though I don't like the Trash talk but it would be nice to have a discussion here from the networks like SandraR suggested on what is considered copyright infringment here?. Just my opinion.

I'm pleased to see this board exist, and I welcome the availability of more online forums in which to discuss the issues of interest to all of us.

To help the board get started with its best foot forward, I aspire to post some new spyware/thiefware/adware research here, first, i.e. before posting to any other board. I'm pretty busy this week but will see if I can find something interesting nonetheless.

How about a misbehaving TopMoxie app in violation of CJ/LS rules? Or the full merchant list targeted by a major TopMoxie distributor? Not that I have any special focus on TopMoxie -- I truly don't! -- but this is some research I just happen to have on hand at present, and that I haven't previously posted to the public.

This is what I was trying to express over at ABW today Sandra. I of course got a rebuttal from Haiko for not supporting him
