Hey Mike..Nice you "see" you posting in our forum.
I've known Mike for a little while now and we have a client in common. His company represents several online merchants and is looking for quality partners on all of his project. Glad to see him join the board.

The site has never been one for a large number of posts, despite the many visitors we see on a daily basis. I think we end up weeding out a lot of the "noise" you find on other boards. People are more "down to business" around these parts.

Hi there,
Welcome to the forum, I think I've met you before in a previous thread on this forum.
My biggest worry about the s/w industry is that the jobs in the s/w industry will run out soon after all websites are built so, it's always nice to see someone posting that they are "actively looking for s/w people".

Hi Rachel,
"After all the websites will be built"? I'm sorry but I have to respectively disagree. In a day and age where just about every person is starting to have their own blog, their own MySpace page, their own business website etc., if anything the industry is experiencing growth right now that is reminding us of the crazy 1999 dot-com days.
There's more work than we can handle and we are always actively looking for more software engineers, webmasters, content writers and customer support people.
It's a great industry to be at right now and it's not going anywhere. Rest assured you have nothing to be worried about. And if you know anyone who would be a good fit please send them my way. The company has a promotion right now of paying a $500 referral business per every person you refer who ends up getting hired before February 1st 2007.

Most corporate entities are going to want to revamp their site every 2-3 years. With more and more companies making the jump to the Web, I don't see work for a software person ending any time soon. Most companies will want to evolve as the web evolves and take advantage of new markets (let's say, MySpace or YouTube).
