Company Modis Location Houston, TX Title Senior PHP Developer Summary The job requires solid data architecture and PHP experience as well as expertise with application development and database systems. This Senior PHP Developer is expected to have strong technical skills, to work closely with the other team members in designing and managing key projects.
Duties:
- Assist in the ongoing development, maintenance and deployment of various web products and systems in a team environment
- Write code that is scalable, extensible and reusableParticipate in the entire planning and development process of web development projects
Requirements:
- Excellent, senior-level skills in PHP development, deployment and maintenance and experience with LAMP
- Strong SQL skills, including experience with complicated queries and reporting
- Solid working knowledge of HTML layout structuring and CSS
- Working knowledge of the MVC structure as it pertains to the development process
- Ability and desire to excel in a fast-paced startup environment, and accept interruptions and setbacks as part of the routine
- Ability to create secure, scalable, and efficient systems and code for use in high-volume environments
- Strong analytical skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to learnExperience with data architecture required (schema design, data constraints and integrity, stored procedures, query optimization, etc.
Advantages/Pluses:
- Experience with Apache, FreeBSD and CVS/SVN
- Experience with Perl and/or Java development
- Knowledge of regular expressions. Ability to work with large amounts of dataBS degree in technical area
