Re: How To Increase Page Rank? - 01-04-2008

If you'd like to increase your PageRank, you need to have "back-links," or other people linking to your website. You can trade links with other people, but make sure you only trade relevant links, and make sure you're not trading links with a link farm. You can register your website with directories, such as the Open Directory Project, but use directories with high PageRank whenever possible.

As you build web pages within your website, you can create some of your own back-links by linking to relevant pages within your own website.
The best way to increase your PageRank is to have quality content that other people want to read more

First of all, content of your site plays main role here.
After that doing the "Link Building" will give you better Page Rank for your site. But keep mind that, Always go for relevant the reciprocal links or back links.

Re: How To Increase Page Rank? - 01-29-2008

Back links are Links pointing to your website from another website. The more back links you have the higher your PR will be.

1. Join forums, forums are a great way to achieve links to your website. In most forums you are allowed to have a signature and in your signature you can put a link to your website. But another important note to look on is making sure the forum is somewhat related to your website. You will still get credit if it's not, but if it's related to your website than you will be accomplishing two tasks at once.

You will be advertising for your website (bringing in targeted traffic) You will also be building your websites presence.

Your websites presence is very important to your survival. The more people see, or hear about your website the more credibility you will have and this increases your chances of having these visitors come back and possibly become leads.

2. Submit to search engine directories. Search engine directories are a good way to get a free link to your website. They also increase your chances at being listed higher on popular search engines like Google, and overture.

Most search engine directories allow you to submit to their website for free. This will allow you to increase your web presence by being listed on another search engine, and it will also be a free link.

Remember the more links you have the higher your PR will be

3. Creating and publishing articles. Articles are an easy source of generating new traffic. You can include your signature in your article. This will bring in more traffic from article submission directories.

4. Links from related websites. Gaining links from related websites can be one of the most frustrating tasks you can attempt.

They are very easy to find, but can be difficult to obtain links from.

Cool Re: How To Increase Page Rank? - 01-29-2008

After going through all your amateurish comments I have one thing to say "Well Tried".Now, the point: i.e The PageRank of a website depends mainly on the quantity of quality backlinks or inbound links that it has from other quality websites. Now what Google considers to be a quality backlink depends on the algorithm that Google uses when making an update for PR and backlinks. As of the last couple of updates Google made it has made it clear that websites selling links will have their ISP'S BANNED and the ones who are buying the link without their adsense account will not have the link crawled by Google. That's the reason that numerous websites has seen a fall in their PR and Backlink.

The Page Rank Of A Website depends solely on your inboud links. The PageRank of a website is calculated with the help of the following equation:

PR(A)=(1-d)+(PR OF LINK PAGE 1*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE1)+ (PR OF LINK PAGE 2*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE2)+.....+(PR OF LINK PAGE P*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE P).

Where A,is your website
D is a damping factor =0.85
link page 1,2...,P are the pages that has a link pointing to your website and can be found out by conducting a search on google with link:www.website.com.

Re: How To Increase Page Rank? - 01-30-2008

All extremely good points... and just to make it clear and simple. It's all about quality inbound links from a wide variety of sources spread accross an equally wide variety of ip addresses. The more the better.

It also helps tremendously to not "Bleed" PR out to other sites or to low importance pages of your own site. You can accomplish that using the nofollow tag to off site links as well as to internal pages. There is some debate over the effectiveness of the nofollow tag to preserve PR but my feelings is that its worth the effort as implimentation is so simple.

There are numerous methods for gaining those inbound links, many of which have been already been disccussed... of course there are a number of other and more powerful methods available too but one can't give away all their secrets

Hope that helps!

Re: How To Increase Page Rank? - 02-05-2008

Page Rank is a link analysis algorithm which means ranking is based on links(IBL in particular)...
Building one way links directing to your site is the most effective way of having a decent PR...
Forum Posting, Directories Submissions etc. are some of the common activities in order to create back links...
But be sure that these links are coming from quality and related sites...

Yep ! One way inbound links are tops although there is some value to reciprocal linking as well but as I mentioned earlier this can bleed page rank and take visitors away from your site... and you could inadvertantly link to a "bad neighbor" which isn't a good thing either...

Hope that helps!
