I myself an wondering this for all my efforts spent trying to increase PR have we all forgotten the goal is for traffic to our site and increase in our websites product or services!

PR is just a show off IMO, lols.

What really matters is the level of targeted traffic that we are getting and the conversions ;)

The #1 goal of any business should be to grow profitable sales and leads, especially online. Yes, I do agree that Conversion is a main issue to think about when trying to increase the overall income for your site. You can develop more traffic by develop greater conversion rates for affiliate programs and contextual ads.

In this business world, if you can answer this question "What’s going to make my visitors come back?" Always think from your client side, know their need, fulfill it.
Finding the answer to this question is essential for success in every level of business.

Work more on your SERP and other targeted advertising so as to reach your desired audience. Content would also play a vital role in making conversions. Being able to reach your target market is one thing, getting them to buy or use your services from your sites is another.

Its a matter of supply and demand, IMO. Match your traffic needs with what you offer on your site ;)
