Why Everyone Ought to Have a Blog - 09-05-2007

Personally I’m not really a blogging man, but as you can see that does not stop me from having one.
Blogging can have its ups and downs, however if you are able to build your blog into a popular site, your really going to enjoy the blogging money.
However if your like me, and not a man that can always put his words down on paper, then a blog could be something that you may not enjoy having, unless you take advantage of the prospect and use it in your daily business.
While I mostly use my blog to post my thoughts that are bouncing around my head any given day of the week, I also use it to test marketing and link baiting ideas.
Over the two years that I have had the site I have tested around 10+ ideas with small to very large success, then taken some of them and used them in my commercial products.

As you can see in the above Alexa graph I have had a bunch of mini successes, and one larger success that lasted the complete 4th quarter of 2006.
While the site is my personal experiment, and stomping grounds to post my thoughts and tricks for the world to read, you could take these simple things and use them to build any website or blog into a $100k+ yearly income if you wanted.
For example, if you count some of the small spikes in traffic, and larger ones, you can see around 15-20 spikes. I did 2x or 3x more attempts to get them hits over the time frame, however as I’m not a blogging man, I don’t go after it a couple times a day, hell even a week!
However sites like SEOMoz.org, Entrepreneurs-Journey.com, JohnChow.com, Seo-Scoop.com, SEOBlackHat.com, and many other people you probably already have heard about spend each day posting 1, 2 or 3 times a day trying to attract your attention, links, and clicks.
They all know, just as I know that I have an unlimited number of attempted to post something that will get your attention and maybe, just maybe get an extra link, ad click, etc.
Overtime, anyone can learn the tricks and start building a marketing profile that works for the site(s), and simply cook up one idea after another and continue to push the traffic high into the sky.
Even if your idea(s) fail 70% of the time, the other 30% should make you rich!
