I talk to Tylercruz every couple of months via email, normally it’s about some promo Wordze is running, or just a couple fly by questions.
Back on the 2nd Tyler posted his January earnings for all to see. Since I talk to him and he is a nice guy, I don’t think he will mind if I give a couple pointers on some stuff he could do to improve that income quicker than he could beat me at poker! :p
Last month Tyler reported he clocked just under 1k of income from affiliate programs, and other things on his blog. Since his post was about his blog, I’m going to keep all my focus on some of the stuff he could do with his blog to make around 3k quickly.
Since he has no PageRank, the link sale is out the door(Not a business model I recommend anyways), however he has an Alexa ranking of 27,000, which is not bad in my book.
We know he has a good amount of search engine traffic, as well as, referral traffic. Additionally we also know from the feed status bar he has somewhere around 1268 subscribers to his RSS feed. As a blog owner I also know that anyone who makes a comment on his blog has an email address.
Now that we know a little bit of what he has of value, we can start thinking up some things to turn those numbers into high volume returns.
For starters he could go find some software that would get all the emails out of the WordPress database (In my case I would just make my own), and email everyone that ever has made a comment each time he makes a new post, or anyone comments in a thread others already commented in.
Doing this will quickly turn the traffic levels up as people don’t read their feeds everyday, or even every week if they are busy, however they check their email almost daily. Just remember to have a unsubscribe system in place.
The 2nd thing that would make more income is a TylerCruz 30 day webmaster class via email on search engine marketing, internet marketing, or whatever fits his fancy.
Here is the really good part; If Tyler does it right he wont even have to write the emails, as he could hire a writer for around $20 dollars a email to write 30 days worth of articles (Its called a ghost writer). All he will have to do is read the articles have the writer change whatever he does not agree with or wants improved.
From this he would be able to market that SEO class to all his visitors via a link at the top or bottom of each post, as well as in the email he is sending when he makes new post.
This in turn will allow him to grow his reputation, teach people how to make money using the stuff he already knows, then at the same time sell them on the software and services that makes the process of SEO easer.
If he really wanted to top it off, he could do one more thing… At the very end of the 30 day newsletter he could sell them on a service he owns, or an ebook that covers more advanced topics and information.
His users would like the learning process as its free, and they get to learn how make a blog as popular as his along with ranking, then at the same time he would be able to sell a good percent of them on joining a couple products along the way, and if he closed it up with a ebook or other products, he could pickup another $10, or $20 dollars more for each person that finished the program as they pay for his ebook or other service.
In all he is only taking about a couple free scripts, paying someone to write around 20 articles, getting an Aweber account, then promoting it, and never touching it again.
Since we know he has around 1,300 subscribers, and without question I can assume he probably has well over 4,000 people reading his blog each moth, we can do some numbers to take a stab at what he could earn.
If 60% of the people that read his blog joined his newsletter, and out of that 60%, 10% signed up for one or more of the other programs that he recommends or showed off in the newsletter for an average of $5 dollars a sale, and only 5% of the 60% paid $10 for a ebook at the end of the newsletter he would see for that one month…
• 2,400 people joining his newsletter
• 240 joining one of his affiliate links with a income of 5$ to him
• 120 people buying his ebook for $10’s each.

He would make around $2,400 for one month, plus the other 1,000 dollars he already makes!
